The BouMatic Gemini Up MAX system combines batch milking efficiency with the precision and consistency of robotic technology.
Multiple Gemini Up robots operate in a dedicated milking centre- ideally arranged in a V configuration- to ensure smooth cow flow and predictable routines. Cows enter the waiting area 2 or 3 times a day, move into the milking zone, and are automatically guided to available robots for consistent, high quality milking. Afterward, intelligent selection gates direct them seamlessly back to feed, groups in the barn, or special needs groups, while the compact, modular design fits easily into a wide range of barn layouts.
2 or 3 times a day group entry into a dedicated waiting area gives operators control over cow flow and milking rhythm. Designed for calm behaviour and smooth transition to the robots, it ensures efficient herd management within a robotic milking system.
Cows move from the waiting area into the robot array in small groups. A V-configured layout separates entry and exit paths, balances cow distribution across robots, and maintains high throughput with minimal labour. Each cow naturally selects the first available stall, ensuring a smooth and stress-free entry.
Once a cow enters the robot stall, the Gemini Up takes over.
The system applies BouMatic’s signature milking-from-behind approach, which aligns naturally with the cow’s anatomy and provides a calm, secure environment.
This standardised routine ensures consistent preparation, optimal udder health, and uniform milking quality across the entire herd.
Dedicated exit lanes and intelligent selection gates route cows efficiently after milking, separating traffic and directing animals to the barn, special-needs groups, veterinary zones, or fresh cow areas.
With all robots located in a single, centralised milking area, operators maintain clear visibility over the entire process. The compact layout reduces walking distance, supports quiet cow handling, and simplifies cleaning and maintenance - allowing quick intervention and high throughput with minimal labour.
With fewer repetitive tasks, operators finish each session by inspecting the area, cleaning, checking robots, and reviewing herd data. BouMatic software delivers consistent insights into udder health, performance, and cow behaviour.
