Sander Bremer and Anita run a dairy goat farm with 1,500 goats and have been using the Shuttle Eco feeding robot from BouMatic since October 2024. Previously, they fed their animals with a trailed feed mixer, but it had become outdated and too small. The switch to automated feeding followed a visit to a cattle farm and contact with BouMatic dealers.
Outside, a stationary mixer is filled daily with a blend of grass, pressed pulp, and oranges. The robot collects the feed, mixes it with concentrate, and distributes it in portions to the goats. The animals quickly adapted to the robot and respond with curiosity.
Using an app and computer, the ration can be easily adjusted—for example, during warm weather. Since its introduction, there has been less feed waste, more calm in the barn, and increased milk production. The robot saves 12 to 15 hours of labor per week and improves animal welfare. All in all, the Shuttle Eco is a valuable addition to the farm.
