The Gemini UP, more powerful, more efficient, and just as simple, arrives in France. The Gaec des Erables received its BouMatic milking robot in mid-November. A high-tech production tool that aims to sustain the farm's milk workshop.

The Gaec des Erables in Haute-Marne installed the first Gemini UP in France. This BouMatic installation aims to sustain the farm's milk workshop. "The double-box milking robot Gemini UP is unbeatable in its price," emphasizes Tony Mussot, partner at Gaec. The unique system of two stalls is perfectly suited to their herd of 90 dairy cows and justifies the financial savings of the installation. "There is nearly €100,000 difference between the BouMatic installation and that of 2 robots, to which masonry and maintenance costs must be added," explains Ludovic Zapata, sales manager of the BouMatic Center agency in Allain. The double box is also an asset for learning robotic milking for young dairy farmers attracted by cows already being milked.

Gaining efficiency through the robot

3D plans and BouMatic expert controls

Partners visited several farms before validating their choice of BouMatic robotic milking. Ludovic Zapata then proposed plans: "I made two proposals for the Gaec des Erables. They chose the one with the robot in the center of the building and a sorting system," recalls the BouMatic Center sales representative. He then refines the layout using 3D software according to the farmers' choices. All data is verified by a technician directly on the farm: robot evacuation, milk arrival, electricity, everything is checked. "The robot was easy to integrate into our existing building: we chose to install it at the end of our milking parlor. This required few works on our part, for very good adaptation of the premises and good animal flow," details the farmer.

Rear milking system with single arm

With this cutting-edge tool, the Gaec des Erables has all the cards in hand to work serenely. "Less physically demanding, the BouMatic milking robot also makes it possible to adapt our schedules; one person can manage the tool autonomously," emphasizes Tony. The Gemini UP has retained the rear milking system with a single arm. A unique solution that provides easy access to the udder for care and drying off. "The 3D camera is a revolution in robotics and supports very advanced vision software. In terms of energy, there will inevitably be energy and water savings thanks to a closed circuit," concludes the BouMatic expert.
