Double the Innovation, Half the Effort : BouMatic on the Kee Farm

When asked why he chose BouMatic, Gareth Kee explained that the double box system immediately appealed to him. “We liked the double box idea because the cows stand next to each other, creating a parlour-like environment,” he said. “The double grabber, which fetches two cups at once and attaches between the rear legs, also seemed to be gentler on the cows and didn’t appear to spook them.”

Since switching to BouMatic, Gareth has noticed several key advantages. “The cows seem more settled and content,” he observed, highlighting the positive impact on animal welfare.

One of the most significant benefits for Gareth has been the reduction in labor. “Milking now requires fewer man-hours, which gives us more time to focus on managing the cows,” he noted. This efficiency has allowed him to dedicate more attention to herd health and overall farm operations.
