With V-Trace faults can be identified that, caused by other antennas and external frequency sources, impair the operation of the antenna being measured. In this case the display lights up red, and the displayed values increase. The V-Trace checks the antenna performance. It measures the environmental magnetic noise and the magnetic antenna field strength. The V-Trace LED indicator indicates a measured value and the display shows the measured value in dBμA/m.
V-Trace is a mobile device for diagnosing and measuring interference and field strengths in automatic identification systems (ISO), ear, neck and foot transponders. With V-Trace, electromagnetic interference in the environment can be reliably measured.
The device also supports the inspection of antenna arrays and fault analysis, for example in finding unknown sources of interference. This may be: powerful radio transmitters, non-mains- filter-suppressed frequency controllers (liquid manure pumps, VODs, water pumps, fan controls, electronic fluorescent lamps and their starters with appropriate frequencies).

The V-Trace measures and locates sources of magnetic noise caused by:
• VFDs (Variable Frequency Drives)
• Electronic ballasts in lighting systems
• Switch-mode power supplies
• Other sources of magnetic noise
