This year’s theme, “Our Power, Our Planet,” resonated with BouMatic because of its calls on everyone to unite around renewable and clean energy by 2030.
By repurposing manufacturing scrap into playground mulch, refurbishing chemical totes for reuse, deploying water and energy saving technology with automated milking, we’re cutting waste and enabling farms to run on renewable power. Our feeding and bedding systems even integrate with solar and biogas setups for a sustainable future for generations of dairymen to come. We value your land, legacy, and life; so your farm land can have a greener future for generations to come.
Our Opti‑Stor® Heat‑Recovery tanks capture waste heat from milk‑cooling compressors and use it to heat water for free. With this approach, farms can save on water heating costs while avoiding energy waste that is harmful to the environment.
Our feeding and bedding systems are designed to plug into on-farm renewable energy sources like solar panels or biogas digesters, letting farms run routines on clean electricity. Biogas digesters take cow manure and turn it into heat, electricity, and even spreadable fertilizer, capturing methane, which is harmful for the ozone layer. By integrating these renewable energy options, dairies can reduce their carbon footprints.
During our liner production process, our injection molding operation generates scrap rubber. Rather than sending this material to landfill, we now send it to community partners that repurposes the rubber into playground mulch and running‑track surfaces. By upcycling these materials, BouMatic helps build up communities and shrink landfills.
Most of our chemicals ship in 275‑gallon plastic totes. Instead of discarding them after one use, we collect empties from local dealers in full truckloads. These totes are then cleaned, inspected, and refurbished for another round of service, helping us achieve 80% self‑sufficiency in tote reuse.
Sustainability at BouMatic isn’t just for a day, it’s how we work every single day. We’re making a difference on our land with sustainable engineering, upcycling, and refurbishing for generations to come. On this Earth Day 2025 reduce, reuse, and power your farm with clean energy!
