The BouMatic robots concentrate all the brand's know-how in terms of milking quality. The new Gemini range is available in single and double box models, depending on the objectives of the dairy farmers and for a perfect adaptability to the number of cows to be milked.

BouMatic has given its milking robots a makeover. Now called Gemini, they retain the features that have made their reputation, including rear milking and a double and single box version. In the double box version, two milking stalls, each with its own equipment, are placed next to each other. A single arm cleans the teats and connects the cow. This preparation phase takes one and a half minutes. This time is sufficient to release the oxytocin needed for the milk to flow properly and to avoid a long waiting time for the next cow if necessary.

Quick and easy installation

Thanks to its integrated and compact technical room the Gemini robot can be installed in the middle of the cows. The traffic around it is more fluid with a positive effect on the number of cows milked and the average number of milkings per cow. BouMatic customers report an average of 2.7 milkings per day and almost half of the cows return to the robot before the hour. The position of the robot in the middle of the barn rather than on the periphery does not affect the quality of the milk, as long as the pipeline has no bends and is connected to the tank at the bottom. There is no problem with lipolysis either, up to 60 metres.

The compactness of the robot makes it easy to install. All you have to do is connect it to the water, air, feed supply, tank and Internet. "Plug and play": in a few days, it is operational. It can be installed in an existing building, without having to be rearranged, while keeping a maximum of space for its occupants. Similarly, if the number of animals increases it is quick and easy to switch to a double box.

One robot, one or two stalls

Conventional robots are not suitable for most European farms, as the average size of a dairy herd is 75 cows. One robot will quickly be saturated, especially if the herd is grazing. Two would be under-used, not to mention the amount of investment…

BouMatic has the answer. The Gemini single box robot is suitable for around 60 cows and the double box for up to 110 cows.
A double box robot can hold more cows than a single box robot, allowing flexibility in managing the number of cows by allowing a gradual increase in the number of cows, while minimising the space required and the associated costs.

The double box robot only needs one pump, one attachment arm and one equipment room, which means savings of 30 to 40% compared to investing in two single robots.
