Managing content


Adding a product equals adding a lot of information and assets to the website, so we tried to make this as easy as possible. Here we go!

To add a new product, click the + Add entry button. Product information is grouped into 7 tabs:

  • Product card: Every product is represented as a card on the products page. Here you add all info to create this card.
  • Quick info: This is the most basic information required on a product page.
  • Full product details: All other product information can be added here.
  • Quick buttons: On the right hand side of a product page there is room to add a number of buttons. These are called "quick buttons" because they can be used to offer important information to your users in a quick way. No need to scroll, search or open an accordion to find this info on the page. Quick buttons can link to a file or an internal or external link.
  • My BouMatic Extras: These are all dealer restricted assets for this product.
  • Gallery: This is a photo gallery restricted to dealers. The best, most attractive photos should be used on the Full product details tab between the information added there, much like you would layout a magazine. Those are the pictures a normal visitor will see.
    However, dealers would maybe like to download pictures in high quality or have access to photo shoots taken from a product. Photo shoots often contain series of very similar pictures that are of no use to visitors, but could be used by dealers or sales reps. That's why this gallery is here!
  • SEO: SEO information can be added here, but is already mostly filled out automatically.

Product card

  • Product name
  • Product category: Choose one or more categories a product belongs to. Select the categories from the correct regions (the top level categories define to which region a product belongs, it's the equivalent of the "available in region" field of other entries and is specific to products).
  • Description: A short description of the product.
  • Thumbnail: A thumbnail image of the product.

Quick info

  • Product hero image: Here you can add background images for the header of the page. If none are selected, we use a random image from the global Hero fallback images. If multiple images are added, we use a random image from that selection.
  • Intro text title: A title for the intro text
  • Intro text (required): A summary of the product highlighting its main benefits and features.

Add all other information including photos, video, quotes and more here through our Content Builder.

Quick buttons


Click + File to add a new file with all its translations. 

  • Restrict visibility to (required): The button will only be available to users with these permissions. If none are selected, the buttonwill be available to everyone.
  • File label (required): This is the name of the button and group of files that a website visitor will see.
  • File availability list: Click + Add a row to add a file translation. The following fields will become available to you:
    • Add an asset (required): This is the actual asset you would like to upload to the website.
    • File language (required): This is the language the asset is translated to. Attention: languages need to be unique for every single file group.
    Add every translated asset of the same file by adding more rows.

External link

Click + External link to add a new external link button. 

  • Restrict visibility to (required): The button will only be available to users with these permissions. If none are selected, the button will be available to everyone.
  • External link label: The label for the button.
  • External URL: Manually enter the correct website URL you want to link to.

Internal link

Click + Internal link to add a new internal link button. 

  • Restrict visibility to (required): The button will only be available to users with these permissions. If none are selected, the button will be available to everyone.
  • Internal link label: The label for the button.
  • Internal page link: Select an entry from the pop-up window.

My BouMatic Extras

Extras can be files or internal and external links, just like quick buttons. There are three main categories you can add extras under:

  • Commercial
  • Training
  • Technical

Every main category has its own subcategories which you can select when adding an asset or a link. The workflow is the same as adding Quick Buttons with the only difference that you have to select a subcategory for extras.


Add assets through the image field or videos through the videos field.

Videos need to be uploaded to the BouMatic Vimeo account first. This account is linked to the CMS so you can only select videos from that specific account. Videos need to be public or private with the and domains whitelisted.

Just click Browse videos... and a pop-up will open showing all videos available on the BouMatic Vimeo account. You can also copy/paste the Vimeo video URL in the input field.

Discontinued product

A discontinued product must remain in the database of the website because its technical documents need to stay available in the Technical Library. Therefore we made two "states" a product can be in. The default one is live. To set a product to the discontinued state, select discontinued from the drop down on the right bottom panel (see 1 in the screenshot below).

The available fields will change. Only the product name, product category and My BouMatic Extras technical files will remain available. If you set the product to live again, all field values will be restored except if you made changes to the fields that remained!

Adding an updated product while keeping the old product in the database as discontinued

If you add a product update as a new product (instead of updating the existing product page) because you want to keep the old technical documents in the Technical Library, you can set the old product to the discontinued state and add the new product as a new entry. The CMS will take care of a unique ID and slug, but to keep a clean URL, you could set the product name to include the year of the product update or just manually change the slug to incorporate the year of update: if a product slug already exists, the CMS automatically adds -1 to the slug to make it unique. If you want clean URL's, change this to -2017 for example: the year of update.
