BouMatic expands global market position with acquisition of SAC Group
Madison, US and Kolding, DK – 18 October 2021 – BouMatic, an innovative dairy equipment manufacturer with global headquarters in Madison, Wisconsin, is pleased to announce the acquisition of SAC Group. SAC, with headquarters in Kolding, Denmark, is a well reputed full line producer of complete milking systems for cows, sheep, and goats. Going forward, SAC will operate as a fully owned subsidiary of BouMatic. This acquisition demonstrates BouMatic’s continued commitment to bringing best-in-class dairy farm solutions to its clients across the world.
SAC, Milking Experts Since 1938
Founded in 1938 by S.A. Christensen and family, SAC produces both traditional and automatic milking systems that are easy to use and maintain, are good for the animals, and are ergonomically optimal. SAC also operates Netherlands-based dairy knowledge centre, Hokofarm Group, that places additional focus on data-driven milking and feeding technology. This centre will be a valuable add-on to BouMatic. In addition to Hokofarm Group in the Netherlands and headquarters in Denmark, SAC manages operations in Russia and France.
Joined Forces

The SAC Group owner and third generation in the company Steen A. Christensen is positively convinced about the transaction and says: “We are pleased to have entered into an agreement with BouMatic to continue the business. It has been important for me that the companies were handed over to a new owner who wants to continue the business with the proud traditions and values on which the group is built, and which has been the foundation of the business since my grandfather started the company in 1938. ”
Continued Customer Service and Support
The SAC brand and its products will live on post-close, with SAC’s professional network of almost 100 dealers, mostly located in Europe and Russia, continuing to sell and service SAC products. This means both BouMatic and SAC clients can continue to count on service, supply, and support for both brands’ products. During the coming years, the combination of BouMatic and SAC will create efficiencies and optimized solutions for our dairy farmer customers worldwide.
