BouMatic is proud to present the milking systems that have been installed at the prestigious Mazoon Dairy Farm in Oman. Two 2x60 and one 2x20 Xcalibur 90LX heavy duty parallel stalls are planned for this project. Currently, one of the 2x60 milking parlors and the 2x20 hospital parlor have been completed and operating since May 2019, milking 1950 Australian Holstein-Frisian cows. The objective is to increase capacity and produce over 200 million liters of milk annually by 2026.

State of the art, fully integrated Farm

BouMatic and their dealer Farm Service, with local branch office Farmtec International, started the milking systems project in Al Sunaynah in Buraimi during April 2018. The 15 sqkm Mazoon Dairy Company is the Sultanate’s newest fully integrated dairy farm, comprising an array of facilities including: significant dairy herd housing, feed & fodder mixing and storage facilities, a milking parlour, veterinary facilities, a processing and packaging plant, and a waste treatment facility, as well as sale and logistics facilities. Additionally, this ultra modern Dairy Farm harnesses energy from alternative sources such as biogas and solar power.

The facility will produce a range of high quality, fresh dairy products such as milk, yogurt, Laban, fresh cream, cheese and ice cream for Oman and the surrounding region.

Superior milking systems for a future proof, high standard dairy farm

As a high standard, technology advanced dairy farm with ambitious expansion plans such as the Mazoon Dairy Farm, they require superior milking systems. The BouMatic Xcalibur 90LX parallel stalls were selected because of their unrivalled heavy duty design, cow comfort and efficiency. This rugged parallel parlour is very reliable and durable, especially for large 24/7 dairy farms. The power and strength of the 90LX is coupled with an attention to cow comfort that makes it a true BouMatic Xcalibur parlor.

“We feel very privileged to be Mazoon’s milking partner in this significant project and based upon our vast experience, we are fully convinced that the BouMatic milking systems are the perfect fit for this high demanding desert farm.”

The superb installation shows the true pride in detail and craftsmanship of the Farmtec International and Farm Service technicians. It sports a clean, intricate wiring of the BouMatic ViewPoint automation system for SmartDairy. The BouMatic cooling, heat recovery and milk transfer systems have been professionally placed and routed in a very clean and detailed fashion, giving this installation a wonderful appearance. Though the installation is superbly detailed, the quantity of falling-film chillers and Thermastor tanks required for this hot climate and installation size makes for a remarkable presentation in the cooling equipment area!

ambitious future plans

By 2028, the farm will have the capacity to yield over 270 million litres of milk per annum, establishing Oman as a net exporter of dairy products in the next 20 years.

Spread over three years, Phase 1 of the dairy farm will house over 6,500 cows, producing 170,000 liters of milk per day with plans for expansion in the future. The project will also see increased employment opportunities in Oman, expecting to reach 90 percent Omanisation over the next 10 years.

These are the first of 8,250 cows expected to be imported by 2020, Mazoon Dairy Company said in a press statement. The company started dairy production in the second quarter of 2019 with the objective to produce over 200mn litres of milk annually by 2026, and to increase capacity to over 900mn liters by 2040.
