Job description

BouMatic is looking for a product support technician for dairy automation products. The product support technician will provide technical expertise and support for the installation, operation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of BouMatic automation products. They will work closely with customers, dealers, and internal teams to ensure optimal product performance and user satisfaction. They will also be bi-lingual in Spanish and English.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver expert technical support to dealers, end-users, and internal personnel regarding proper installation, operation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventative maintenance of BouMatic’s automation products.
  • Contribute to the development and delivery of formal customer training programs.
  • Evaluate the suitability of new and existing products for customer applications; provide on-site setup, startup assistance, and hands-on training.
  • Receive, document, and resolve customer complaints and inquiries, balancing customer satisfaction with company policies and financial considerations. Collaborate with cross-functional teams as needed.
  • Support the engineering department in new product development, including beta site testing, performance analysis, customer feedback collection, and manufacturing support.
  • Investigate product issues; Identify root causes and provide feedback for continuous product improvement and design enhancements.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Strong technical troubleshooting and analytical skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including professional telephone etiquette.
  • Ability to work flexible hours and adapt to varied field conditions. Willingness to travel up to 25%, including international travel.
  • Familiarity with dairy farm operations and agricultural automation systems.
  • Proficient in using personal computers and MS Office applications (Excel, Word, Outlook, etc.).
  • Desired: Experience with PC networking, firewalls, antivirus software, and herd management software.
