Job description

This position will play a key role in implementing and supporting the Enterprise Product Data Management (EPDM) system as well as driving process change to improve efficiencies. This position reports to Engineering Configuration Manager.

Key Responsibilities and Accountability

  1. Drive the Processing of Engineering Change Request (ECR), Engineering Change Orders (ECO’s) & the documentation of those changes in EPDM system, CAD modelling and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system.
  2. Responsible for the timely and accuracy of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) for product manufacturing process.
  3. Assist with vendor manufacturing problems related to Design Engineering.
  4. Preparation, creation and checking of engineering drawings for purchased & manufactured BouMatic engineered products.
  5. Work with engineering staff to create technical manuals which utilize company styles and explain installation, operation, and maintenance of company equipment for dealer and customer use.
  6. Responsible to design 3-D solid models, drawings and to provide prototypes for newly developed products, ensure proper assembly fit by applying Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) concepts.
  7. Responsible for the creation or checking of component specification and other required technical documentation.
  8. Document control of engineering changes and support operation to ensure all required signatures are included on project documentation.
  9. Utilize and embrace a structured change management approach and methodology for the implementation of new initiatives in EPDM.
  10. Able to understand the design, production, documentation and implementing of new projects from start to end.
  1. In-depth understanding of multi-level Assembly, Sub-Assembly, Bills of Material (BOM’s) and configuration management.
  1. Works with Marketing and additional departments as needed to meet company deadlines and release dates.

Technical/Job Skill Qualifications:

The candidates must meet the following qualifications, and have demonstrated the following technical or job skills:

  1. Bachelor degree (Engineering based) required from an accredited technical college.
  2. Thorough understanding of EPDM systems (SolidWorks preferred). JDE experience a plus.
  3. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills and ability to deal effectively with all levels of the organization.
  4. Possess a technical aptitude regarding tools and common mechanical, electrical and electronic terminology.
